Epiphany

Surprise
|
Our first year of lambing has been frustrating. Our first ewe (Faith) lambed early on Epiphany Sunday and as you can see, her lambs are doing great. The next ewe lambed late Sunday night, March 13th. She still birthed three lambs. (One ewe and two rams.) Our next ewe gave birth on Friday afternoon, March 18th. Mom and ram did great for the first 15 minutes, and then the lamb stopped moving. We did everything we could, but lost the lamb.
We know it will get better, but it has been a trying week. As one of our advisors put it, welcome to Sheep College 101.
Salem and Rush picked out two Columbia ewes for 4H.
